Iris Lorain Anderson Duntsch

Services for Iris Lorain Anderson Duntsch, 49, were held on Friday Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Father Ben Wright officiating. Interment followed in Lusk at the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Duntsch died Dec. 27, 1995, at Wyoming Medical Center. She was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Cheyenne to William F. and Ihla G. (Johnson) Anderson.

She was raised at the Cross A Ranch north of Lusk and graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk. She went to the New York Institute of Finance, received an A.A.S. degree in law enforcement form Casper College, and earned a bachelor's degree in administration of justice from the University of Wyoming, specializing in mitigation/death penalty.

She married Jerry Duntsch on June 18, 1983, in Casper. In 1986, she opened I.D. Investigation and worked as a criminal defense investigator and mitigation specialist. During the past 13 years, she participated in three clinical trials at Stanford University Medical Center, where they were studying the prospects of treating certain lymphomas with monoclonal antibodies.

During her many years battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma, she saw many strides in research and techniques. Her hobbies included snowmobiling, water skiing, traveling, fishing, playing the piano and horses.

She was a former member of the Junior Wyoming Stockgrowers Association, Women in Construction, Job's Daughters Bethel No.10; Business & Professional Women; St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Casper College and UW alumni.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry A. Duntsch of Casper; her mother, Ihal G. Anderson of Casper; two daughters, Katina Golumb of Casper and Shannon Bailey of Lusk; two brothers, William F. Anderson III of Vancouver, Wash., and Lawrence L. Anderson of Buffalo; and two grandchildren, Nick Bailey and Jenna Bailey of Lusk.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center or Oncology Day Care at Stanford University Medical Center.
