Z. Burton Crinklaw
Burton Crinklaw, Resident 52 Years, Dies in Nebraska
Z. Burton Crinklaw, 86, a resident of Niobrara County since 1916, died July 30 at Scottsbluff. Funeral services by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows was conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Peet Mortuary of Lusk. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.
Mrs. A. F. DeCastro furnished organ music.
Casket bearers were George Dixon, Charles Lund, Bill Magoon, Ernest Hansen, John Bruegger and Ray Freeman.
Mr. Crinklaw was born June 27, 1882, at Neligh, Nebr., to Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Crinklaw.
He married Emma Putney at Neligh, Sept. 2, 1906. They came to Niobrara County in 1916 and homesteaded in the Hat Creek community.
He ranched for a number of years and after the family moved to Lusk he ran a trucking business. He and his wife bought an apartment house which he continued to run after his wife's death in 1957, until he entered the Gra-Mar Manor home at Scottsbluff a year ago, where he was living at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the I. O. O. F. Lodge of Lusk.
Survivors include six children, Mrs. Pete (Louise) Tarantola, Cheyenne; J. Gordan Crinklaw, Pampa, Tex.; Warren F. Crinklaw, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. John (Ruth) Stenger, Laramie; Mrs. William (Marjorie) Oesterle, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Jerry (Ida Blanche) Condra of Homedale, Idaho. Also, surviving are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
