Betty L. Rainey, 91, of Glenrock, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at Niobrara Community Hospital on March 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and the music she loved. She was born on June 9, 1933, to Robert and Leona Spencer. Betty was the youngest of two children.

Betty graduated in 1951 from Glenrock Parkerton High School.

On November 23 1952, Betty married her high school sweetheart, Robert. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories. Betty and Robert enjoyed 52 years together.

Betty was the mother to her two children, Terry and Rhonda. Betty’s love extended to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

Betty had a wide range of interests that kept her active and engaged for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling. She and Robert loved their time at the lake whether it was fishing, boating or camping. Betty also loved snow-machining and was a Denver Broncos fan. Her favorite season was Spring so she could get outside and get her flowers planted.

Mom always said "I'm fine, just fine, everything is fine!"

Betty is survived by her daughter Rhonda (Steve) Hockaday. Grandchildren Shawna Stewart (Mark), Ryan (Katie) Stewart, Tasha Rainey and Reggie Rainey. Great grandchildren, Josie Berge, Jacob Robinson, Justin (Emily) Robinson, Kelton Stewart, Rylee Stewart, Terryn White, Reece White, and Luke Rainey. Great-Great grandchildren, Braelynn, Adley, and Callan Smith.

Sister in Law; Bette Spencer, and daughter in law; Ann Rainey.

Betty’s legacy of love and family will continue to live on through each of them.

Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her son, Terry Rainey; her parents, Robert and Leona Spencer; and her brother, Bobby.

A graveside service to honor Betty’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place, services by Pier Funeral Home Lusk, Wy.

Special thanks are given to Niobrara Community Hospital and Dr. Joleen Falkenburg, for her excellent care. Thank you to her Granddaughter Shawna for making the last few months so special, She enjoyed her daily visits, and for sharing with her extra snacks.
