Norma Jean Willson
Norma Jean Willson, born November 17, 1930, to Joseph and Francis Konrath, passed away October 22, 2024, in Jackson, Wyoming, at 93, after a brief illness. A Rosary will be recited at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m.. A reception for friends and family will follow the Mass, and a family committal service will be held at The Lusk Cemetery following the reception. She had lived in the Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming, close to her son Tim and wife Deb for the past year.
Norma attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, where she studied to be a teacher. After marrying Jim, she became a ranch/housewife on Running Water Ranch, west of Lusk, and mother to their four children. After 23 years, they moved to Lusk.
Norma was skilled in maintaining all varieties of flowers and gardening, with a special passion for maintaining African Violets, one of which has been in the family for decades. She was an avid crocheter, making numerous gifts for her family and friends, and was acknowledged as a Grand Champion in the county fair. She was also a Chinese checker player, teaching others how to play, maybe let her opponent win once or twice and then ..........no mercy.
Norma was a fervent prayer warrior, deeply involved in St. Leo's Church in Lusk. Her love for the Lord was evident in all she did. While in Pinedale, she continued to share her faith, assisting the staff in providing a weekly prayer group, decorating the chapel, and regularly scheduling Mass and Confession for herself and fellow residents. Norma's love for singing also reflected her faith, as she was an active church choir member in her earlier years.
Norma's warmth and compassion extended to her pets. Eleven years ago, she acquired two kitties, who became a significant part of her life and happiness. She visited them regularly, as they resided with Tim in Big Piney. The joy and love she felt for her pets were evident in their happy reunions.
Norma was loved by many and will be greatly missed, but we have no doubt she is with the Lord and Blessed Mother, whom she loved so much.
Survivors include her children, Brad (Laura), East Renton Highlands, Washington; Tim (Deb), Big Piney, Wyoming; Chris (James), Lusk, Wyoming; and Rusty, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters Sharon Disotel and Sandy (Gary)Thomson, Bayard, Nebraska and one brother Dan Konrath, Chadron, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Francis Konrath, and her husband, James V Willson.
In lieu of flowers, should you wish, the family is requesting donations to help defer the expenses of her passing. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated and can be made using the information below.
