Patricia Marie Garner passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born on March 17, 1929, in rural Sioux County, Nebraska, to Jess Christian and Kathryn Doyle Eberspecher. She was the oldest of eight children. She attended grade school at Bodarc District 6, the same country school where 7 of her grandchildren attended in later years. She graduated from Sioux County High School in 1947.
She taught school at District 46 for one year after high school and then married Alan “Pat” Holmgren on November 8th, 1948. To this union, 4 children were born: Charles, Kathryn, Chris, and Casey. In the following years, they worked for other area ranchers, and in 1956, they moved to Fort Robinson, where Alan was employed by the USDA Beef Research Station. Patricia loved raising their kids there and made many lifelong friends. In 1964, they leased land northwest of Crawford and moved there and ranched on their own.
In 1971, Alan and Patricia suffered the loss of their son Chris Holmgren, who was just 16 years old.
She loved playing cards, hosting family get-togethers, spending time with grandkids, and taking walks. She was a faithful member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She married Jack Garner on November 30, 1989, and they made their home in Lusk, Wyoming. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, hosting friends, and playing cards. Jack passed away on March 17, 2024, in Lusk, Wyoming.
