Denis E. Culver
Funeral services for Denis E. Culver were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995 at the SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. The Rev. Fred Wendel officiated. Interment was in the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Jeb Burnett, Gilbert Allen, Steve Logan, Rich Plemel, Dave Swann and Neil Heikes. Honorary pallbearers were Leo Sumner, Gabby Garbrecht, Hubert Northcutt, Cliff Gibbons, Oscar Tellefson and Vern Petersen.
Culver, 58, of 1244 McKinley Ave., Rock Springs, died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 1995, 30 miles south of Rangely, Colo., in a traffic accident. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Culver was on a Harley-Davidson road trip at the time.
He was born July 30, 1937 in Rock Springs, the son of Lafe E. and Cathryn Rose Ferrell Culver. He attended schools in Lusk and was a graduate of Luck High School with the class of 1955. He entered the United States Navy and later married the former Evelyn Baronetti in Salt Lake City on Aug. 3, 1958.
Culver was the retired owner and operator of the City Auto Sales in Rock Springs where he worked for more than 30 years.
He spent time in his retirement taking pictures of scenery, traveling, golfing and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Culver of Rock Springs; his father, Lafe Culver of St. George, Utah; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Erin Culver of Rock Springs; two daughters, Denise Culver of Fort Collins, Colo. and Dena Culver of Denver; three brothers, Lafe Culver of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tommy Culver of Torrington, and Aaron Culver of Cheyenne; three sisters, Carmen Berta of Pinedale, Paula Malmborg of Cheyenne and Fern Peterson of Lusk; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
