Services for Lila Marie Copley, 81, were Thursday, July 30, 1987 at the Church of Christ Episcopal Church in Sidney, NE. Mrs. Copley died Friday, July 24, 1987 at the Niobrara County Nursing Home.

Lila was born in Fort Lupton, CO on June 2, 1905, the daughter of George and Gertrude Smith. She married Oscar E. Copley on June 2, 1925 and lived in Denver until the family moved to Sidney in 1948.

Mrs. Copley taught kindergarten in the Sidney schools for 34 years. She was active in the Church of Christ Episcopal Church and Guild, Order of Eastern Star and Retired Teachers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oscar; daughters, Claryce Joy and Marjlyn; sister Gale; and brother Victor.
Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Annette Barnes of Lusk; a son Dr. John Copley of Tucson, AZ; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hereford of Laramie, Mrs. Neva Bringham of South Dennis, MA, and Mrs. Marjorie Snell and Mrs. Evelyn Ray, both of Denver; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Burial was in the Sidney cemetery. Memorials to the Sidney Elementary School will be appreciated by the family.
