Nicholas Todd
Death of Nicholas Todd Occurs May 30
Nicholas Todd was born at Bedlington, England, June 12, 1842 and entered his eternal rest at the home of his son at Node, Wyoming, May 30, 1921, at the age of seventy eight years, eleven months, and eighteen days.
The ambitious desires of his early youth were materialized when the development of his plans reached maturity on his arrival in New York, on April 20, 1864. He was one of the early settlers of Ohio, having settled at Akron soon after his arrival in America. On December 30, 1869, he was married to Mary Jane Clark. To this union two children were born, Viola Jane King of Armour, South Dakota, and James M., with whom he resided at the time of his death.
He followed coal mining for a period of forty-five years and was always faithful in the duties assigned to him. As further evidence of his ambition, he came to Wyoming with his son on Sept. 10, 1909 and filed on a homestead. since that time he has resided here with the exception of a few months spent with his daughter in South Dakota.
Grandpa Todd as he was affectionately known will be greatly missed as he was a man of kindly nature possessing a personality that was pleasing. In whatever form death may come, it is with sorrow that we witness the departure of those we love. But God doeth all things well and in this thought we are comforted.
Besides his two children, he leaves to mourn his death, several grandchildren, Daniel, who assisted his parents in comforting him during his illness, Marie and Robert, who now reside in Oregon, Ethel, Harold and Edith King in South Dakota and a host of friends.
