Amelia Criswell
MRS. WILLIAM CRISWELL
Amelia Ferguson was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., May 15, 1848 and passed away at her home in Lusk, Monday, June 4, 1923, having reached the age of 75 years and 20 days.
When eighteen years of age, in company with her parents, she moved to the state of Michigan, where in 1872 she was married at Bay City to William Criswell. They then moved to Millford, Mich., where they resided for eight years until they felt the call of the west and moved to Kearney, Nebr., and then to Ainsworth. In 1886 they came to Lusk, or as it was then known, "Silver Cliff," and have been residents of the state ever since.
Mrs. Criswell was known as a woman of Christian character and refinement and and devoted wife,
Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, three brothers, George Ferguson of Davidson, Mich., and Frank and Joseph Ferguson of Durand, Mich.
Funeral services were held in the Community hall, wednesday afternoon, June 6, 1923 with Rev. Clare Van Metre, minister of the Methodist church of Harrison, officiating.
She was laid to rest in the Lusk cemetery, in the community of which she had so long been a member.
