Bert Everett Goddard
High School Boy Dead Following Practice Injury
Bert Goddard Passes Away at Home Here Last Saturday
Funeral Services are Held Monday Afternoon; Students Attend to Pay Last Respects
Bert Everett Goddard, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Goddard, Jr., of Lusk passed away at his home Saturday, October 30th.
The lad had not been in the best of health for some time and a short while previous to his death, while attempting to kick a football, missed the ball and kicked a sage brush stump. The shock resulted in an internal injury and this, coupled with his previous condition, aided in bringing his life to a close.
Funeral services were held at St. George's Episcopal church Monday, November 1st with Dean Tull of Torrington officiating.
Six seniors acted as pall bearers and his class mates, the Sophomores, as honorary pall bearers, while the remainder of the high school attended in a body to pay their last respects to their departed schoolmate.
Interment was made in the local cemetery.
G.J. Armstrong had charge of funeral directions.
