Sam Erlewine Passes Away
Sam Erlewine of Van Tassell, who has been in bad health for a long period, passed away on Thursday, July 17th, the funeral taking place at Van Tassell last Sunday, July 20th.
Mr. Erlewine has been a highly respected residence of the county for many years, and a host of friends will regret his death.
Funeral services were held from the Congregational Church in Van Tassell, Sunday, with the Rev. Cowman officiating, the arrangements being made by the Peet Mortuary. The pallbearers were John Lohr, H.E. Zerbe, Frank Finney, Wm. Bockhoff, Ben Martin, and George Hecklebeck.
Samuel H. Erlewine was born at woodbine, Iowa, on September 15, 1875, being 54 years, 10 months and two days old at the time of death, which was caused by paralysis. He came to this county from Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1913. he is survived by his wife and the following children: Blanche, Kenneth,John and James: one sister, Blanche; brothers J.O., Robert, William, John, and another sister, Mrs. Lottie McKrill.
