Flattop Resident Dies Here Friday

Mrs. Ruth Esther Griffith, 34, Succumbs Friday, July 13, Following Caesarean

Mrs. Ruth Esther Griffith, 34, of Flattop, Wyo., Niobrara County, died Friday, July 14, at the Lusk Hospital, following a Caesarean operation performed Thursday, when the attending physician made a final effort to save her life. Mrs. Griffith had been suffering from a chronic ailment for the past 20 years, and little hope was held for her recovery. The infant survived but a few minutes following the operation.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15, at Randolph, Neb., the birthplace of the deceased. The Peet Mortuary had charge of arrangements here, the body being shipped Saturday by train to Randolph.

Survivors are her husband, Leonard Griffith; two daughters, Vivian, 14, and Ruby, 12, all of Flattop; a sister, Mrs. R.J. Ruda, of Keeline; an aunt, Mrs. E.W. Stigile of Lusk: three brothers, Kenneth, Victor and Ewart Hughes, all of Keeline.

OBITUARY
Ruth Esther Hughes was born on December 15, 1899, at Randolph, Cedar County, Nebraska. Here she grew to young womanhood, and was married to Leonard Griffith.

About 1927 she and her family moved to O'Neil, Neb., where they lived for three years, when they moved to Flattop, Wyo., where she has many friends and neighbors who will mourn her passing.
