Keeline Resident Dies in Nebraska
Curtis A. Baker, 63, for the past 15 years a resident of the Keeline Community, died Wednesday, January 10, at Bridgeport, Neb., following a heart attack.
The deceased was visiting at the home of Mrs. Caroline Swanson when the unexpected death occurred. He had been visiting with friends in Nebraska for the past three weeks.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 14, at Keeline, with Rev. B.F. Farrar of Lusk officiating. Interment was made in the Jireh Cemetery and arrangements were conducted by the Peet Mortuary.
OBITUARY
Curtis Ambrose Baker was born in the State of Indiana, April 26, 1870.
At Carbon, Iowa, January 11,1894, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Pender, and to this union two children were born, a son, Kenneth Dale, and a daughter, Ruby Beatrice. When the latter was but 7 years of age, the mother passed away in 1908 at Kirkville, Missouri.
Mr. Baker and his two children then moved back to Iowa, where they resided until they came to Keeline, where they have since resided.
Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Beatrice Lee and her husband, LeGrand Lee, their three children; his son, Kenneth Dale Baker and wife; three brothers, Ellsworth Baker of Sundance, Wyo. ; W.E. Baker of Carbon, Iowa, and Otto Baker of Kirksville, Mo.
