A Memorial Mass for former Casper and Lusk resident Josephine Tutt "Tutty" Collins, 80, was held Dec. 14, 1999, in Amarillo, Texas.
She died Dec. 11, 1999 in Amarillo.
She was born in 1919 in Huron, S. D., to Grace and Ray Howard. She studied at Yankton College in Yankton, S.D., and the University of Minnesota, where she studied architecture.
She married Richard Collins in Casper in 1941 and moved to Glendale, Calif. They returned to Casper in 1947. They moved to Lusk and she indulged her love of writing when she became a correspondent for the Casper Star-Tribune.
They lived in Lusk until moving to Fountain Valley, Calif., in 1978. Her husband died in 1980.
She moved to Amarillo in 1993 and enjoyed many activities there. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 1999 and died in the home of her youngest daughter.
Survivors include her three daughters: Melinda Norris of Glendale, Calif.; Marnie Olmstead of Wichita, Kans.; and Cecily Bramlet of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren; and a sister Betty Sherrard of Dallas.
