Last Rites For Latitia Marsh
Death claimed Mrs. Latitia Marsh, mother of Robert Marsh of this county, at the home of another son, James E., at Fort Collins, Colo., last Thursday evening, May 8th a the age of 83 years. Mrs. Marsh had shown a decided decline in health during the last two years, but was not unusually ill when she was stricken with a fatal heart attack Thursday.
Funeral services were conducted from St. Leo's Catholic church of this city at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning with interment made in the Lusk cemetery, alongside the resting place of her husband, Eli Marsh, brought to Lusk following rosary services at Fort Collins Sunday evening.
Pallbearers were Alfred and Lawrence Johnson, Henry Petz, S.W. Boyd, Otto Klemke and John Agnew. Arrangements were under the direction of the Day mortuary of Fort Collins.
Latitia Maloney was born at Manadota, Ill., April 23, 1858. In 1879 she was marriage to Eli Marsh at Hannibal Mo., and after several years the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where they resided from 1888 to 1918.
To this union were born four sons and a daughter, Robert, Zera, Harry, Edward and Charles. Other survivors are three brothers four sisters; two grandchildren, Richard and Harry Marsh, and two great-grandchildren, Anita Jean Marsh and Richard Scot Marsh, 2nd.
Following the family's residence in Sioux City, they moved to this state, locating on a homestead 30 miles north of Lusk in 1918. They remained here until 1927, when they moved to Salt Creek and two years later to Fort Collins, where the deceased had made her home since 1929.
Mrs. Marsh had acquired a large circle of friends in this county while residing here and her kindly disposition and cheerful attitude was known throughout the neighborhood. she had visited here several times after moving away, her last trip having been about a years and a half ago.
