Funeral services for long-time Casper resident Terry Ray Oehlert, 64, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sat., Mar. 4, 2017, at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, Wyo. He passed away Tue. Feb. 28, 2017 at Niobrara Community Hospital, after a prolonged illness.

He was born to Merle R. and Betty (Newlin) Oehlert Jan. 15, 1953, in McLeansboro, Ill. His family moved to Lance Creek in 1967, and he graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1971, where he was active in football. He briefly attended Casper College, then entered the US Army.

Terry married Vicky Miller in 1978, and their son Shawn was born in 1979. He and Vicky were later divorced.

He worked many years driving truck, hauling hazardous materials.

Terry had a great smile, loved to laugh, and was a good friend to all. He enjoyed hunting pheasant, fishing, and playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and by his brother Carl. He is survived by his parents, Merle and Betty Oehlert of Lusk, son Shawn of Gillette, and many friends.
