Merna Inez Stigile
SERVICES FOR MERNA INEZ STIGILE ARE HELD AT E. DIVIDE SCHOOL
Friends Pay last Tribute to Young Lady Whose Death Brought Sorrow in Community
Funeral services for Merna Inez Stigile were held Monday afternoon at the East Divide school house at 2 o'clock with Rev. H. H. Koontz officiating.
Music for the services was furnished by a mixed quartet from Lusk with Miss Alice Fowler at the organ.
The crowd of friends and neighbors that gathered to pay their respects to the young girl and her family, more than filled the building, and the myriads of beautiful flowers was mute testimony of their love for the deceased.
She had attended school during the past term in the building where the services were held and would have been among the county eighth grade graduates had she not been prevented by illness which covered a period of six weeks.
Six girl friends, the Misses Pauline Shrum, Bernice Alcorn, Orian Sturman, Katherine Hanson, Emma Bump and Hildred Towne, acted as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Midwest Hardware company undertaking department.

We cannot say and we will not say
That she is dead - she is just away;
With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand
She had wandered into an unknown land -
And left us dreaming how very fair
it needs must be, since she lingers there.
