Bruce Eugene Blackmore
Bruce Eugene Blackmore, 93, returned to his heavenly home on June 24, 2015. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him walking into his arms. Bruce was born to the late Lela Mae Sparks-Blackmore and William Simeon Blackmore on April 6, 1922 at the family homestead in the Royal Valley Community near Lusk Wyoming. He was the tenth of their twelve children. He attended the Royal Valley Community School and graduated from Lusk High School with the class of 1940.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Blackmore of Lewisville TX, one sister Anne Mae Lint of Arlington VA, four children Anthony (Tony) Wayne Blackmore and wife Tracey of Arlington TX, Ronald Gene Blackmore of Mesquite TX, Cindy Rae Rushing and husband Mike of Garland TX, Janet Leigh Martin and husband Ed of Dallas TX, two step children Robert Davila, Barbara Davila, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy as a radio operator from 1944 to 1946.
He had and extensive career in the telecommunication field, retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Bruce was a thirty second degree Mason and a Shriner. He was an active member of Northview Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas. His hobbies included bowling and golfing, he participated in many tournaments.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
A memorial service will be held July 15, 2015 at Mulkey Mason Funeral home in Lewisville, Texas
Interment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas Texas.
