The death of Ed. L. Patrick last week in Omaha removed one of Wyoming's well known pioneers, news of which was received with deepest regret by his many friends in this part of the state.
Mr. Patrick lived with his family on the ranch in Goshen county and was popular and respected by all who knew him. In the early days, when Goshen and Niobrara counties were part of old Laramie, Ed. Patrick drove the overland mail coach between Cheyenne and Deadwood and blazed the trail for those who came after, making the settlement of Wyoming possible by the sturdy small ranchers and farmers who now people its wide rolling uplands.
Mr. Patrick is survived by his widow and seven sons and two daughters.
