Margaret J. Foy, born at Platteville, Wis. May 29, 1861, passed away April 9th, 10:45 p.m., 1920, at St. Francis Hospital, Grand Island, Nebraska. The deceased was 58 years, 10 months, 10 days old at the time of her departure.
She stayed at Platteville, Wis. until she reached the age of seventeen. She and her parents then moved to Oregon, Wis., where she resided ten years, eventually coming West, to Elm Creek, Nebr. One year later she moved to St. Libory, Nebr. where she was united in the holy bond of matrimony, April 14, 1891, to Henry Mulligan. To this union four children were born.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Henry Mulligan, Leo Mulligan, Mrs. M. Stone, Helen Mulligan, and two grandchildren, Georgina and Helen Stone, all of Manville, Wyoming; two sisters: Miss Kate Foy, of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. John Fahy, of Chadron, Nebr., and one brother, William Foy of Aspin (sic), Colorado.
She was a loving wife and a true mother and will be remembered by her dear ones and relatives.
Here, she was an active church member. She was a quiet, unassuming woman, of fine character and charitable impulse.
She lived at St. Libory, Nebr. until six years ago when she came to Manville, Wyoming, where she resided until taken seriously ill last February, 29th.
She worked hard, was well and strong, up to the day of her illness. march 6th she was taken to the Hospital at Lusk, Wyoming. March 7, she underwent an operation for appendicitis. She stayed at this hospital until April 6th when she was removed to St. Francis' hospital, at Grand Island, Nebr. where it was found necessary to perform an operation for gall stone which was done April 9th. She passed away the night of that day. At her bedside were he husband, her son Leo, and her sister, Mrs. John Fahy. Her death was like her life - quiet, peaceful and beautiful.
Funeral services were held at St. Liborious Church, April 13th. Her old Parish church where her marriage was held, also the baptismal services of her dear ones. Father Chas. Kaufman officiated. The interment was at St. Libory cemetary amid the prayers and tears of her dear ones, relatives, old neighbors and friends.
