Frank Dick Passes Away Last Friday
Frank Dick, aged 55, and a resident of this community for the past twenty years, passed away Friday, February 23, 1940, at 3:00 p.m., death resulting from pulmonary hemorrhage suffered two days previous. Mr. Dick had been in poor health for the past two years apparently from the same cause. He was born August 24, 1884 and was 55 years, 5 months and 29 days of age at the time of his passing.
The deceased came to this city about 1918 when L. S. Berry was managing the city light plant. He was employed at that time as a lineman and had followed that vocation ever since. Little is known of his early life, other than he had worked as a lineman for a telephone company in Indiana, later working as an electrician at Louisville, Kentucky, from which place he came here.
He is survived by his wife, Joan MacPherson Dick, of this city. Mr. Dick also had two brothers, however their names and addresses are unknown. The deceased was of a quiet, peace-loving nature, having but few intimate friends with whom he confided. He had worked at Casper, and in Montana several years, later returning to Lusk where he had made his home since 1934.
Funeral services were held Sunday February 25, at the Peet Chapel at 4:00 o'clock p.m., with Rev. P.H. Evans in charge. Mrs. C. E. Marvin and Mrs. Delbert Cobb sang a duet, "Abide With Me," with Mrs. Floyd Deuel as accompanist. Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery. Pallbearers were R. J. Barnes, Claude Miller, Jack Bartwell, George Smith, Jerry Shrove and John Irons.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. R. F. MacPherson, father of Mrs. Dick; a son and his wife.
