Obituary
Vince Ford, 81, of Lusk, Wyo., passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 19, 2014, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyo. with his daughters by his side. At his request, no services will be held.
Vince was born July 6, 1932 to Carrie and Boaz Ford in Upper, Ark. As a young man Vince loved to travel, and visited nearly every state in the U.S.A. Vince was self-employed as a talented sign painter. He also ran a variety of other businesses.
Vince loved to help other people and would go out of his way to do what he could. He loved to hunt. Every year he would retreat to the mountains for three weeks of hunting. It was the highlight of his year. One of the biggest joys of his life was his grandson Alex. They did everything together. One of his favorite things was Sunday morning coffee with Alex.
Two years ago Vince found his second daughter, Melody Ford. Getting to know her for the last two years brought great joy to him.
Vince is survived by his two daughters, Valerie Ford and Melody Ford, both of Lusk; his grandson, Alex Carpenter, of Lusk; granddaughter Shannon Ford of California; and sister Velma Vineyard of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ford; his parents; and multiple siblings.
Memorial may be made to a fund established for his grandson, Alex Carpenter, at Lusk State Bank, PO Box 1400, Lusk, WY 82225-1400.
Pier Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
