Dariel Carlisle of Lance Creek Dies Here Monday

Dariel Carlisle, 37, passed away at the Spencer hospital Monday, January 22, after a short illness. Word of his death came as a shock to friends in Lusk and Lance Creek.

Dariel came to Lusk in 1929 and as a boy specialized in shoe repairing work, which trade he followed until about two years ago when he entered the employe of the Rocky Mountain Pipeline Company at Lance Creek.

Dariel Lea Carlisle was born at Newport, Nebraska, December 6, 1907, the son of Frank and Olie Carlisle. He was a graduate of the Newport high school and grew to young manhood in that vicinity.

He came to Wyoming in 1929 and located in Lusk. In December of 1933 he was united in marriage to Miss Verda Lohr. To this union three children were born, Patsy Ruth, Dickie Lea and Kay Ann.

The survivors besides his wife and children are his father, and brother, Ray, of Stuart, Nebr., and a brother, Harry, of Lusk and eight sisters: Mrs. Mabel Johnson of Lance Creek, Mrs. Lillie McCune of Lusk, Mrs. Maude Johnson of Hartville, Mrs. Nellie Porter of Gordon, Nebr., Mrs. Maggie Conrad of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Alice Morrison, Milwaukee, Wash., Mrs. Gladys Veenker, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Orilla Williams, Carter, S.D.

He was preceeded in death by an infant brother and by his mother in 1918.

Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Ezra Duncan, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. Wm. G. Watt, Miss Laverne Johns, O.P. Harnagel and Gilbert Henderson, who sang "We Are Going Down the Valley" and "Beautiful Isle," and Mr. Henderson rendered a solo "In the Garden." Mrs. J.P. Watson was the accompanist.

The casket bearers were Stace Peet, Bill Stewart, Cecil Gillespie, Stanley Frasier, Kenneth Erlewine and Jimmy Roberts.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.
