Charles Dobson of Lingle Dies

Charles Austin Dobson, 65, died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk, Sunday, March 2, from the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage, which he had suffered at his home in Lingle shortly before being brought to the hospital a couple of days
previous.

Mr. Dobson had been an employee of the Ohio Oil Company for twenty years and was a resident of Lance Creek for twelve years. He was retired from the company last September and the 1st of October he and his wife moved to Lingle, where they had bought a home.

His health had been declining for some time, but it was hoped he would improve after he quit active duty.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel in Lusk on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, with the Rev. Lawrence P. Juell, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery here.

Mr. Dobson is survived by his wife, Anna Jane; four daughters and three sons, two of which, George and Charles, reside at Lance Creek.

Charles Dobson Funeral Held

The last rites for Charles Austin Dobson were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Wednesday afternoon, March 5 at 4:30 with Rev. Lawrence P. Juell, pastor of the Congregational Church of Lusk, officiating.

Music for the service was sung by Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. Emerson Bonner. The selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", Mrs. J. P. Watson was the accompanist.

A number of Lance Creek friends carried the remains to final resting place in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Dobson, who had been an employee of the Ohio Oil Company for the past 20 years, and resided at Lance Creek since 1934, died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk Sunday morning, March 2.

Charles Austin Dobson was born at Watertown, S. Dak., August 1, 1881, the son of Abram H. and Delphine Mitchell Dobson.

He received his schooling at Creighton, Nebr., where he moved with his parents while a small child. He was married to Anna Jane Dobson at Watertown, S. Dak., and they lived for a few years at Marvin, S. Dak., and at Terry, Mont.

The family moved to Parkerton, Wyo. In 1920 where Mr. Dobson engaged in the pipeline department of the oil business which he continued to follow after coming to Lance Creek.

Because of poor health, Mr. Dobson retired last September and in October he and Mrs. Dobson moved to Lingle to make their home.

Surviving him are his wife, Anna Jane, and three sons, George and Charles, Jr., of Lance Creek; Earl of San Francisco, Calif.; and four daughters, Mrs. Robert Bahl of Lance Creek; Mrs. Vern Schrader of Cody; and the Misses Mae and Blanche Dobson of San Francisco.
