Rae Ann Larson

Rae Ann Larson, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away January 27, 2013, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was born January 1, 1930, in Lusk, Wyoming, to Raymond Elwood Christian and Lillian Lovelace Christian. She grew up and attended schools in Kirtley and Lusk. Following graduation from high school, Rae Ann attended Colorado Women's College in Colorado Springs, University of Wyoming in Laramie, and Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She lived in Wenatchee and Moses Lake, Washington, and Burley, Idaho before settling in Idaho Falls.

On October 18, 1980, Rae Ann married Jay R. Larson in Idaho Falls. She worked as a teacher and taught in Idaho Falls for one year. She was also a librarian for the city of Idaho Falls and the Argonne National Laboratory site, west of the city. She also drove the State Bookmobile.

She was a member of P.E.O., Idaho Falls Bridge Club, and the Idaho State Library Association. She was also a member of the Back Country Horseman and a member of the Bonneville County Mounted Posse.

Rae Ann was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, in Idaho Falls where she had been ordained a Deacon.

Survivors are her husband Jay Larson of Idaho Falls, a daughter Rebecca Brooks (Alan) Snodgrass of Camas, Washington, and a son, Earl Brooks of Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daniel C. Brooks and a brother, Daniel Christian.

Memorial Services were held on February 2, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Idaho Falls with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery, near Kirtley, Wyoming at 10:30 am June 15, 2013 with the Reverend Mark Lohr officiating. The cemetery was once part of her father's ranch.

Burial is under the direction of Pier Funeral Home.
