Mrs. Fannie Lincoln Passes Away, Jireh
Note: The obituary is printed as published. There are many spellings of her maiden name, but the family has verified "McPheren" as the correct spelling.
Mrs. Fannie Lincoln passed away at her home near Jireh, on Tuesday, November 7, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Lincoln and her husband moved to Wyoming from Kansas about 15 years ago, locating on the homestead, where she was still living at the time of her death.
Funeral services were held in Jireh on Thursday, with Rev. Sears of Glendo officiating. The music was rendered by Rev. and Mrs. Sears, Mrs. Harry Howard and Ernest Swanson.
The pallbearers were Oscar, Alfred, Robert, Aaron and Lloyd Lincoln, all sons, and Ike Lloyd Lincoln, a grandson.
The funeral arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary of Lusk, and burial was made in the Jireh Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Fannie Marie McPherson was born in Peoria, Ill., October 26, 1858, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McPherron. She departed this life at her home near Jireh at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1933, at the age of 75 years and 11 days.
In Adams county, Iowa, October, 1877, she was united in marriage to James M. Lincoln. To this union six sons and one daughter were born. The eldest son, Joshua, died on May 21, 1932. The rest of the children survive their parents, as their father, James Lincoln, passed away on January 10, 1927.
Four of the sons, Oscar, Robert, Alfred and Aaron, reside in the Jireh community, while Lloyd lives at Denver, Colo. The daughter, Mrs. Lura McCreedy, resides at Coming, Iowa. One sister also survives, who lives at Corning, Iowa. There are twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren surviving Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln.
Mrs. Lincoln was but seven years of age when her family moved from Illinois to Iowa. After her marriage she and her husband continued to live there until 1900. Then they moved to western Kansas, where they resided for a time. In 1918 they removed to the vicinity of Jireh, where they have since resided.
