Helen (Thomas) Kane

Surrounded by family, Helene Kane of Douglas, Wyoming, went to the Lord on Feb. 27, 2013, after a short illness.

Helene was born in Lusk, Wyo. on April 3, 1942, daughter of Lee and Vesta (Thon) Thomas of Keeline, Wyoming. She grew up and was educated in Keeline and Lusk. She attended college in Billings, Montana, before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Richard T. Kane of Edgemont, South Dakota, on Sept. 18, 1965.

To this union was born three children. With this family came Helen's true spirit. She was a loving and supportive person and the heart and foundation of her immediate family and all those extended family members. Helene stayed involved with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed everything about them.

Helene is survived by her husband Richard; daughter Theresa (Dean) Neal, son Richard (Renee) Kane, and daughter Heather (Lee) Zahn; brother Wayne Thomas, sister LaDonna (Randy) Schmidt; grandchildren Quentin Kane, Hayley Kane, Bailey Kane, Ashley Neal, and Easton Zahn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Services were held Monday, March 4, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Lusk, with burial in the Lusk Cemetery.

Those wishing to may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.

Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
