Isaac Robert Hammer
Early Resident Dies Here Tuesday
Isaac Robert Hammer, a resident of Niobrara County for the past 32 years, died in Lusk Nov. 10.
Mr. Hammer was born March 2, 1855 at Rockport, Mo. He came to Wyoming from Missouri and homesteaded East of Hat Creek. He has resided in Lusk for about twenty years. At one time he was janitor of the Grade School.
Mr. Hammer has been in poor health for more than three years, and his death was attributed to the infirmities of old age.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon with Rev. P. H. Evans in charge. Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. C. E. Marvin sang several duets accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson. Pallbearers were Vic Senters, Don Keyes, Sam Wood, Sam Leeling, Ed Colligan and J. Barnes. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mr. Hammer is survived by three son: Wayne of the Buck Creek community, and Elmer of Lusk and another son in Ogden, Utah; and two daughters, one in Oregon and one in Sioux City, Ia.
Note: The small plaque at the left of the gravestone says Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoff, Casper, Wyoming, 8-9-1942 to 8-10-1942. There is a burial of an unnamed infant son in the cemetery records for that location.
