Harry (Bud) Fancher
Harry (Bud) Fancher died June 15 at St. Vincents Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He was born December 28, 1912 in Lusk. (Note: His birth announcement was published in the Lusk Herald January 1, 1914, so he was born on December 28, 1913.) Bud was raised in the Kirtley area, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fancher.
He married Esther DeCastro on January 4, 1934 and worked in construction in and around Niobrara County moving to Scappoase, (Scappoose) Oregon in 1943.
He was Construction Superintendent for Albert Havlik at Sacppoase until his retirement in 1978.
He enjoyed his family and friends spending many hours helping the young folks work on their vehicles and remodeling their homes.
He is survived by his wife, Esther of Scappoase, and eight children - Joanne Blessing, Kalam, Washington; Patricia Wilson, Scappoase, Oregon; Linda Denny, Beaverton, Oregon; Katherine Herzog, Seattle, Washington; Constance Kuhn, Warren, Oregon. And three sons, Frank, Robert and William Fancher all of Scappoase. Twenty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His sister Ila Paulson, and brother Frank (Bob) Fancher both of Lusk, Floyd of Seattle and many nieces and nephews.
Columbus Funeral Home of St. Helen's Oregon was in charge of services on June 18 and internment was at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoase.
