Dorothy L. Kaan
A family memorial to honor and celebrate the life of Dorothy L. Kaan will take place June 30, 2012, at the Lusk Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friends are welcome to attend.
Dorothy was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Ephrata, Wash. and passed away on Nov. 29, 2011, in Scottsbluff, Neb. at age 86.
Dorothy came to live on the Kaan Ranch south of Lusk after her marriage to Gordon Kaan in 1945. They made a home there for many years and raised their four children, Terry, Keith, Sandra and Lauralee. After selling the ranch, they traveled in the winter months to the warmer climates of the Southwest and finally settled in Texas. They lived there until Gordon's death on 2008. She then moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to make her home closer to her daughter.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Sandra) Kaan of Cheyenne, Keith (Sue) Kaan of Mason, Texas and her daughter Lauralee (Duane) Lucke of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; grandchildren, Andrea Kimbrough, Rebecca Johnson, Mindy Lablond, Jason Kaan, Kathleen Jacobs, Melissa Kaan-Tabor, and Ann Hinton; and her sisters Ruth and Lorna of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and her daughter Sandra.
