A funeral service for Carol Mae Kant, 74, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at The Gathering in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Frank Wiederrecht officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery. Carol Kant went to meet the Lord peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born Feb. 13, 1938 in Duluth, Minnesota. She has resided in Douglas the last ten years, and has spent the last seven years with her loving husband Michael Forrest Kant Sr.
Carol is survived by her husband, Mike; her sister, Bernice; four children, Todd Clawson, Bruce Clawson, Cynthia Clearview, and Marty (Amanda) Swartz; step children, Susan (Mitch) Ferguson, Michael (Stephanie) Kant Jr., Marshall Kant, Phillip (Brenda) Green, and Geanie (Mike) Cronin; grandchildren, Lalenya (Chris) Holden, Jennifer (Judd) Hiser, Jeremy Cronin, Kellie Cronin, Chara (Shawn) Hildebrand, Brenda (Juan) Clawson, Yvette Clawson, Sierra Kant, Shandrea Kant, Jonah & Matthew, and Ty & Caden Ferguson. There are also nine great grandchildren; a very dear and close friend, John Clawson; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was a very loving and caring, mother, grandmother, great grandmother as well as a friend to all who knew her. Carol enjoyed riding her motorcycle, cooking for others, and taking care of her many grandchildren. She always had a positive outlook in life and included God in her everyday activities.
The entire family would like to extend their many thanks and gratitude to each and everyone of the medical staff who tirelessly cared and comforted her in her final days here on earth. Also, we would like to thank the community of Douglas, it is a blessing to live in such a great town with so much support. Mom (Grandma) you are in our hearts and thoughts, missed, and remembered everyday for all time. Love the family.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.. A memorial to The Gathering, P.O. Box 1446, Douglas, WY 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
