IVOL CORBIN, RANCHER OF NEAR HARRISON, KILLS SELF SAME AS HIS PROGENITORS

Young Rancher Uses a .45 Revolver to End Life at Home

Ivol Corbin, 25 year-old rancher, from near Harrison, Neb., who lived for about 24 hours with a large portion of his skull torn away, died at the Lusk Hospital at about 1:00 o'clock Tuesday morning.

After investigation, officers pronounced it a case of suicide, although no powder burns were noted on his forehead. A .45 calibre revolver was found near him.

The bullet from the large calibre revolver tore away about two inches of his skull, exposing the brain. Surgeons tried in vain to save his life by raising the depressed skull around the wound and removing fragments of bone, but the shock was too great for him to stand.

The body was shipped to Harrison for interment.

This is the third generation of the Corbin family to commit suicide.

His father committed suicide in a spectacular manner in front of a bank in Harrison, dying on the street, and his grandfather is also said to have taken his own life.

After being discovered, Corbin was rushed from Harrison to the Lusk Hospital, and every effort made to save his life.
