Jennette "Jennie" Thompson
Died
On Thursday, December 30, 1897, Jeanette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Thompson, aged two years and six months. The little one was not strong enough to battle with the disease of which she was afflicted, that of lung fever, and had to succumb to the beckoning hand in the other world. The following lines are dedicated to the memory of little Jennie.
The morning was upon her bed,
The winter winds blew free;
An angel stirred his silver wing,
And whispered, "Come with me."
No bitter tears had she to weep,
No sins to be forgiven;
But closed her little eyes in sleep,
to open them in heaven.
---
T. L. Thompson and family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the friends and citizens of the valley and Pleasant Ridge for their kindly sympathy and assistance in their recent bereavement.
