Mrs. Ida Ward Dies at Casper
Mrs. Ida Ward, former resident of Harrison and Lusk, died at Casper December 11 at the age of 86. By coincidence, Ed Schluter, husband of Mrs. Ward's daughter, died the day before at Denver. He worked at one time in the Snyder Store at Lusk.
Mrs. Ward was born at Nuendorf, Germany, August 11, 1874 and came to the United States in 1884. She married Oscar F. Ward in Harrison April 4, 1894. Mr. Ward was marshal at Harrison and later county sheriff. The family later moved to Lusk and on to Casper in 1917. Mr. Ward died in 1936. Since then Mrs. Ward spent much of the time with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth E. Brewer, in Cheyenne.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Justine Christensen, Cheyenne, and two other children besides Mrs. Brewer - Mrs. Dorothy E. Schluter, Denver, and a son, Herbert O. Ward of Casper. There are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Clarence Schnurr of Harrison attended the funeral services which were held Friday at Casper. Mrs. Ward was his late mother's aunt.
