Lee E. Wright, age 71 of Mendota, Illinois formerly of Gillette, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Ill., from cancer. Memorial services will be held later in February. A full obituary will follow. Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of Mendota; children, including daughter Kim Foster of Gillette. Memorial service, Lee E. Wright, 71 of Mendota, Ill.; formerly of Wyoming, was held 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Shelter, with Pastor Dan Morgan of the High Plains Community Church officiating.
Mr. Wright died at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois on Jan. 23, 2011.
Lee E. Wright was born Aug. 24, 1939 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Mildred (Patton) and Sherman Wright. He was the oldest of five children. He married Ruth Reynolds in Sept. 15, 1957. Together they had three children and later divorced. In 1986, he moved to Illinois. He married Christine Ecklund on Nov. 20, 1989.
While in Wyoming, Lee was a truck driver and mechanic for Black Hills Trucking and Reed Transportation. In Illinois, he was a maintenance worker for Woodhaven Lakes.
Lee is survived by his wife, Chris of Mendota, Illinois; his mother, Mildred of Story, Wyo.; two brothers, Gale, of Savannah, Missouri; Roger (Davene) of Newcastle, Wyo.; and sister, Judy (Dave) Harshman of Las Cruces, N.M.; his sons, Keith (Karla), of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Jack (Kathy) of Gordon, Neb.; his daughter Kim (Bill) of Gillette, Wyo. and step-son Michael (Sue) of Gardner, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, extended family and countless friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley; his Dad, Sherman; his first wife and mother of his children, Ruth; sister-in-law, Pat; and grandson, Brandon.
