Carol Lynn Cisneros

Carol Lynn (Craig) Cisneros, 43, of Lusk died Nov. 8, 1996. Vigil service was Nov. 11, 1996, at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Funeral mass was Nov. 12 at St. Leo's Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Shea officiating. Burial was in Whitney, Neb. Memorials are to St. Leo's Catholic Church.

She was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Alliance, Neb., to Irvin and Marjorie (Taylor) Craig.

She attended Chadron High School in Chadron, Neb. On May 29, 1970, she married Andy Cisneros and they had eight children, Thomas, Carrie, Laura, Charles, Jessica, John, Koni and Cody. She opened her own business in the summer of 1996, Little Diego's.

She loved young people and they loved her, as evidenced by the amount of time her own children spent in her company and the legions of teenagers who flocked in and out of her home and business.

She was always ready for a joke or a prank, and her sense of humor welcomed a joke on her as much as she enjoyed playing a prank on someone else.

She could be found bent over the hood of a car engine, conjuring up tantalizing aromas in her kitchens and cheering on youngsters - her own and others - to sporting triumphs.

She turned a listening ear to young people who brought her their worries and concerns.

She did not hesitate to correct them if she believed they were out of line, but she had the unique ability to disapprove the actions without disapproving of the child.

It is a sad commentary that when we need love most we are the most unlovable. Perhaps that was Carol's greatest strength: her ability to love a child when that child displayed his or her most unlovely characteristics.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband and their children, all of Lusk; brothers Lloyd, Darrel, Larry, Robert, Gary, Lyle and Loren; and sisters, Ardith Robinson and Mary Ester Martin.

Bader Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
