Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Eva G. Farrington 98, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Rose Catholic Church with The Reverend Father Michael Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk, Wyo. cemetery. A Rosary/Wake service will be held Thursday at 7pm at the church. The casket will be open at the Rosary but closed at the Mass. Eva died March 22, 2010 at Community Hospital in Torrington. Memorials may be made to either St. Rose Church or the Senior Friendship Center.

Eva was born Dec. 3, 1911 at the family home in Lusk, Wyo. the daughter of Richard and Mary (Mashek) Pfister. She attended the Lusk Public School graduating there in 1931. The next year she took a normal training course and taught three years at the Young Woman School north of Lusk. On June 1, 1936 she married George Farrington in Douglas, Wyo.

They lived in Colorado Springs, Colo. for one year later moving to Crawford, Neb. where they lived on a ranch southwest of Crawford for thirty-one years. They had three sons. In 1969 they left the ranch to make their home in San Diego, California for seven years. After the death of her husband she moved to Torrington, Wyoming where she has lived for the past 34 years. She served as a Senior Companion through the Senior Friendship Center for many years. Eva enjoyed taking care of her yard and gardening, along with crocheting and embroidery.

Eva is survived by three sons, Keith Farrington and his wife Jennette of Kaycee, Wyo., George Farrington and his wife Lorene of Medicine Bow, Wyo., and Gary Farrington of Hot Springs, S.D.; a foster son, Larry Gerke and his wife Peggy of Wheatland, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and seven foster great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister Jane Geiser; and two brothers, Henry Pfister and John Pfister.
