Marie Valentine Dies Here Thurs.
Funeral services for Marie Valentine were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Koen, minister of the Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Valentine died last Thursday at Niobrara Memorial Hospital. She had had cancer for some time.
Marie Valentine was born November 24, 1912, in Palmer, Okl., the daughter of Henry and Mary Elliott.
She came to Lusk July 1953 and had worked at several Lusk eating establishments.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Keith Germany of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Hubert Victor Germany of Lusk, two brothers, L. R. Elliott of Claremore, Okla., and J. H. Elliott of Granville, Tex., one sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Lemons of Lusk and three grandchildren.
Pallberers were Joe Jones, Al Taylor, Harry Fernau Jr., Jack Melugin, Orville Guffey and Charles Vaughn. Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Near to the Heart of God" with Mrs. J. P. Watson as organist.
Burial was in the Lusk Cemetary.
