Local man's mother dies

Blanche Groves, 90, the mother of Jim Groves of Lance Creek, died Dec. 6 in Oregon City, Ore. She had undergone surgery recently.

Mrs. Groves and her husband, Milo, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in October. A funeral service was held in Estacada, Ore., on Monday.

She is survived by her husband, Milo; three daughters, Flossie Linnehan of Oglala, S. D., Mildred Klestch and Marion Warner, all of Estacada, Ore.; and three sons, Clarence of California, Jack of Estacada and Jim of Lance Creek.

Jim and his daughter, Karen Daniels, of Newcastle and Mrs. Linnehan and son, Jim, left Sunday by plane from Casper to attend the funeral.

Mrs. Warner will be remembered here as the former Marion Aberle.

The older Groves had visited here many times until advancing years made the trip impossible.
