Ruth Ladwig Drewry

Ruth Ladwig Drewry of Billings, Mont., formerly of Lusk, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2009. Her daughters Madeline and Michelle were by her side. She was 78, her 29th anniversary of being 49.

Ruth was born in Nebraska to Wilhelm and Katherina Ladwig and was the eighth of 12 children. Ruth was of strong faith and loved the Lord. She was baptized, married and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran church. Raised in Manville, Wyo., she attended the University of Wyoming for a short time before she married Carrel Drewry in 1953.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eight siblings and son-in-law Danny Johnson. Although she had many accomplishments in her life, Ruth thought she would be most remembered as someone's Mom and is survived by her seven children: Madeline (Jerry) Martinez, Mark Drewry, Myra Johnson, Mitch (Linda) Drewry, Mike (Brenda) Drewry, Michelle Drewry and Melissa Drewry. Grand children: Brian, Brandy, Casey Jo, Kayla, Trevor, Shay, Brandon and Randy. Great grandchildren: Demi, Dillon, Kyler and Tatum. Her sweet companion lady dog who was faithfully by her side, especially at meal time.

Ruth loved to laugh and always brought a smile to everyone she met. She loved quilting and gifted over 100 quilts in one year. She is remembered as a very giving, loving, vivacious woman with a wonderfully dry sense of humor.

A heart felt thank you to our sister, Melissa, for her never ending love, strength, care and companionship. Also, special thanks to Merle, Kayla, Kathy and Jane of Rocky Mountain Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion for our Mother.

Cremation has taken place. A family memorial is planned for a later date in Wyoming.
