Death Notice

Lila Lee Green, age 51, passed away Oct. 31, 2009 at her home in Lusk after a brief battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lila L. Green, 51, of Lusk, Wyo. passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, while asleep at her home after a very brief battle with cancer.

Lila was born May 19, 1958 in Aberdeen, WA, the youngest of four children to Herschel and Daisy Durham. She was raised and lived in the Puget Sound area of Washington for the first 28 years of her life.

She met Phillip Green in Elma, Wash. in May of 1987. Lila and her son Boyd moved with Phillip to Lance Creek, Wyo. and in July of 1987 they were married. While in Lance Creek Lila helped with the AWANA program and played women's softball. In 1990 she moved to Torrington so Phil could attend college classes. In 1992 she and the family moved to Lusk, where she resided until her death.

Lila worked at the Rawhide Motel for almost 10 years before going to work at the Best Western as Head Housekeeper until her illness forced her to quit. She took great pride in her work and her "girls" (the maids).

Lila is survived by her husband of 22 years, Phillip; her two sons, Ehi Spaulding of Reno, Nev. and Boyd Durham of Lusk, Wyo.; her mother and her three older siblings.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herschel and her mother-in-law, Linda Kant. She was cremated at her request and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Elks Lodge.
