LUSK PAYS TRIBUTE TO MEMORY OF W. CUTLER

The funeral of W. C. Cutler was held at the Baptist church last Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Every business house in the city closed for one hour and the church was filled with friends and neighbors who came to attest, in a small way, the great respect in which Mr. Cutler was held. There were many flowers, including beautiful set pieces. The choir rendered several beautiful selections and Mr. and Mrs. Monte Purseley sang "Safe in the arms of Jesus."

The beautiful and impressive Masonic burial service was performed at the grave.

In his sermon Rev. O'Farrell said in part: "We are here to pay the last tribute to one who has lived a life of unusual strength and beauty. His piety was more than overflowing good wished, it was the serious, practical Godliness of a clean purposeful life."

The death of William C. Cutler occurred on the morning of Thursday, November 13, 1919, at 9:30 o'clock.

Mr. Cutler was taken ill with pneumonia last week and physicians, recognizing the seriousness of his condition, brought him from his ranch to the home of his son-in-law, E. N. Phillips, where he could be under their care constantly, but he died after an illness of less than one week.

Mr. Cutler was born in Canton, Illinois, January 22, 1952, was married to Miss Hester J. Filson, April 25, 1873 and lived in Centerville, Iowa, for more than twenty years before coming to Wyoming in 1912.

Mr. Cutler was a member of the Masonic Order and for many years affiliated with the Baptist church. He was a man of the finest qualities, devoted to his home and family and interested in all movements of progress or betterment.

He is survived by his wife, Hester J. Filson Cutler, one son, Alden Cutler and four daughters, Mrs. E. N. Phillips, Mrs. George Howes, and Mrs. Frank Gray of Lusk and Mrs. Scammel of New Jersey.

Funeral services (were) held at the Baptist church last Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock. The masonic service was read at the grave.
