Harry Carlisle Dies Monday

Harry S. Carlisle, 60, died Monday morning at his home of a heart condition. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Peet Chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible Church officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. J. P. Watson was the organist and I. F. Johnsonbaugh, Harry Lyon, Rick Kilmer and James Church sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Garden."

Pallbearers were: Bob Black, Clifford Cox, Floyd McCleerey, Dale Fullerton, Kester Akers and Virgil Gladson.

Honorary pallbearers were: Lee Penn, Ben Sturman, John Erlewine, Harve Ledford, Ralph McKelvey, Kenneth Erlewine, V. W. Wingren and Paul Morgan.

Harry S. Carlisle was born October 29, 1903 at Newport, Nebr., the son of Franklin and Ollie Eaton Carlisle. He attended school in Newport and moved to Manville in 1920. In 1923 he moved to Colorado, where he lived until 1927 when he returned to Lusk. He and Thelma Sparks were married August 20, 1934 at Chadron.

He was a carpenter by trade and had lived and worked in Lusk since 1927 with the exception of two years when he was employed as a carpenter in Igloo, from 1940 to 1942.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma, one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Strilowich of Mamaroneck, N. Y.; one son, Kenneth of Ossining, N. Y.; one brother, Ray of Atkinson, Nebr.; six sisters, Mrs. Lilly McCune of Lusk, Mrs. Grant Porter of Gordon, Nebr., Mrs. Maggie Conard of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Clarence Morrison of Milwaukee, Ore., Mrs. Harry Veenker of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Maude Johnson of Casper; and three grandchildren.
