Funeral services for Joseph Nicholas Noel Jr., 53, were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Fort Reno Building at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Del Weyer of the Douglas Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8 and Wyoming Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors. A reception was held at McKibben Cafeteria on Wyoming State Fairgrounds following graveside rites.

Joe Noel a resident of Douglas died Monday, March 9, 2009 at his home.

He was born August 12, 1955 in Kinsley, Kansas the son of Joseph Nicholas and Neta Mae (Kornmeyer) Noel. The family came to Douglas in 1968, where he finished his education. He graduated from the Douglas High School in 1973. He joined the Army National Guard, serving for eight years. He worked in the oilfields in Wyoming, and also worked in Casper as a welder prior to joining UPS. He worked as a UPS driver the past 28 years. He was married January 2, 1975 to Jane Henson at the Douglas Assembly of God Church and to this union two daughters, Mandy and Kristen, were born. He and Jane later divorced, and he was married to Teresa Ann (Williams) Heck on November 3, 1984 in Douglas at Douglas Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, horses, fishing, taking pictures, and flying his airplane. He was a member of the Douglas Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his mother, Neta Noel, of Casper, Wyoming; daughters, Mandy (Jason) Reisener and Kristen Noel (Zeth Campbell) both of Greeley, Colorado; step-son, Raylan J. "RJ" (Joanne) Heck of Crestview, Florida; siblings, Gail (Neal) Barnes of Norman, Oklahoma, Diana (Terry) Worman of Lyman, Wyoming, John (Cathy) Noel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Cindy (Randy) Carnahan of Casper; grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, and Dillon Reisener of Greeley, Emma Heck of Crestview, and Kora Campbell of Greeley; and Teresa's family, Gerald and Rose Williams of Casper, Kay (Bob) Rosenberger of Wellington, Colorado, Carol Williams and Jerry (Shelly) Williams both of Casper.

He died along with his wife, Teresa Noel and step-son, Chad Heck. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph N. Noel Sr., on December 18, 1991; paternal grandparents, Josephine and John Noel; and maternal grandparents, Blanche and Howard Kornmeyer.

Serving as pallbearers were John Noel, Gary Olsen, Scott Ramsey, Randy Hobbs, Jerry Gibson, and Jim Herrick.

A memorial to Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
