John William Emery
John William Emery dies in Dawson, Ga.
The funeral for John William Emery, 75, a former longtime resident of Mitchell who died at Dawson, Ga., was held last week at Mitchell, with the Rev. Carlyle Smith officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Scottsbluff.
He was born Sept. 16, 1902, at Concord, Neb., and had lived most of his adult life in the Mitchell area. He farmed north of Mitchell until his retirement in 1967. He had lived at Scottsbluff a short time before moving to Georgia.
He was a member of the Federated Church at Mitchell and a member of the I.O.O.F. Covenant Lodge No. 259 at Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie of Dawson; daughter Mrs. Carolyn Baughman of Idaho Fall, Idaho; son Clayton of Mitchell; sisters Mrs. Ellen Pickens of Torrington, Wyo., and Mrs. Margaret Bartel of Rapid City, S. D.; brothers Raymond of Tempe, Ariz., and Woodrow of San Diego; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives.
