Memorial services and a Rosary for Charles Rodney Phipps, age 54, was held on Friday, June 22, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock, Wyoming. Mass for Christian Burial will be he1d Saturday, June 23, 1984 at 9:30 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church at Harrison, Nebraska with Father Thomas Ogg as the celebrant. Internment will be at Harrison, Nebraska.

Mr. Phipps died Tuesday, June 19, 1984 at his home in Glenrock, Wyoming following a long illness.

Rodney Phipps was born December 25, 1929 at Harrison, Neb., the son of Julian and Juanita Christian Phipps. He was reared and educated at Harrison and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1947. He was married to Shirley Jordan June 4, 1949 at Montrose, Neb. He engaged in ranching at Harrison until January 1956, at which time he moved to Casper. He was employed with Pacific Power and Light in Casper until 1958, when he transferred to Glenrock. He retired for health reasons in 1978. He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock and a member of the Elks in Casper. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was active in little league coaching for many years.

He is survived by his parents, Julian and Juanita Phipps of Lusk; his wife, Shirley of Glenrock, Wyo.; four sons, Bruce, Joe, John and Gary Phipps, all of Glenrock, Wyo.; one brother Bob Phipps of Lusk; and four grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers in Glenrock were Jim Mollman, Roland Schroeder, Jack MacRae, Kenneth Hoyt, Bill Bourrett and Tom Rasmussen.

Serving as pallbearers in Harrison, Neb., were Richard DeHaven, Bob Phipps, Bruce Phipps, Leo Phipps, John Phipps and Gary Phipps.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donation to the St. Louis Catholic Church Building Fund or Mass offerings to the church.

The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas, Wyo., was in charge of the arrangements at Glenrock. Peet Mortuary of Lusk was in charge of the arrangements at Harrison, Neb.
