Willard "Bill" Croft
Croft Services Held June 8th
Graveside services were held June 8th at the Glenrock Cemetery for former Lance Creek area resident Willard "Bill" Croft, who passed away June 4 at the Natrona County Hospital in Caspser. Rev. Willard Ballard of the Glenrock Baptist Church officiated at the services.
Mr. Croft was born July 8, 1900, in St. Mary's, Ohio, and came to Wyoming in the late 1920's, where he went to work for the Ohio (now Marathon) Oil Company at Salt Creek.
Bill and Florence Tierney were married on October 3, 1931, in Casper and became the parents of one son, Dennis. The family moved to Lance Creek in 1935 where he worked for Ohio in various positions. At the time of his retirement on August 1, 1965, he was assistant field foreman. He had been an employee for Ohio for 41 years. Upon retirment, the Crofts moved to Glenrock, where they became active with the Glenrock Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Croft passed away in 1980. He is survived by his son, Dennis of Sheridan. Memorials can be made to the Glenrock Senior Center.
Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nelson of Lance Creek, and former Lance Creek residents who worked with Bill - Mr. and Mrs. Herb Lasater of Casper; Mrs. Joe Divver of Montana; Mrs. Joe Traphagan, and Mr. and Mrs. Arch Liberty of Lusk; Alice Sheaman of Manville; Mr. and Mrs. Linden Nelson of Torrington and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Nelson of Glenrock.
