Alma Evelyn Lingwood Bostrom

Services for Alma Evelyn Lingwood Bostrom, 86, were conducted Feb. 7, 2003, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, Colo., with Rev. Glen Schlecht officiating.

Alma E. Bostrom died Feb. 4, 2003, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born May 11, 1916, in Andrews, Neb., she was the daughter of Louie Lingwood and Carrie (Galstad Thurstonson) Lingwood. Alma was baptized as a child of God in February 1917, in Douglas, Wyo.

Following the early death of her father, Alma's mother married Henry C. Lenz.

Following graduation from Lusk High School in 1934, Alma married Oscar Emmanuel Bostrom of Lusk, on Dec. 18, 1936.

After spending 35 years working, raising their family, and living in Lusk, Oscar and Alma retired to Loveland in 1971. During this time, Alma, her brother Ralph and his wife Betty, were fortunate to tour Norway and view the areas where their mother and father were born and lived.

Alma was an executive officer of the Wyoming Federation of Women's Clubs, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. For many years she worked as an Avon representative. She enjoyed flowers, plants, gardening, playing bridge with her friends, baking, cooking, needlework, home, hearth, red barns, bird clubs, raising canaries, and enjoyment from her pet Pomeranian dogs.

She is survived by one son, Dale Oscar Bostrom, of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Audrey Ellen Wilson of Coralles, N.M., and Judy Lee Rippley of Berthoud, Colo.; six grandchildren ; five great-grandchildren; one sister Fern Taylor and her husband Don, of Aztec, N.M.; three brothers, Ralph Lingwood and his wife Betty, of Ovledo, Fla.; Hugo Lenz and his wife Martha of Wheatland, Wyo.; Gene Lenz and his wife Joan, of Lusk; and a sister-in-law Jennie Lenz of Lusk.

Oscar, her husband of 64 years preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2001; also preceding her were her brother Richard Lenz, her father Louie Lingwood; and her parents Henry and Carrie Lenz.
