Mary Pinkerton Davin, Aged 72, Passes Away Last Friday, Interment in Manville

Mary Pinkerton Davin, age 72 years, passed away last Friday morning, April 5th, at 2:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Sharp near Manville. The cause of her death was due to old age. She had been ill for some time but her death was a sudden shock to her many friends.

Funeral services were held at Manville M. E. church, Monday, April 8th, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. J. E. Sears officiating. A quartette consisting of Mrs. J. E. Sears, Mrs. H. D. Howard, Mrs. Carl Baughn and Mr. E. B. Baughn sang "At the Cross," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Lead Kindly Light."

Many beautiful floral offerings were banked against the altar of the church. The honorary pallbearers were H. B. Card, J. A. Marorgan, R. F. Burhoop, E. B. Baugh, Edward M. Arnold and A. E. Johnston. Active pallbearers were T. L. Cantwell, F. W. Kettler, Clarence Pinkerton, Ear1 Eutsler, Joe Traphagen and Carl Bedford.

Interment was made at the Manville cemetery. The Midwest Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Catherine Pinkerton was born on March 1, 1863 at Bloomington, Ill., she moved with her family, when still a child, to Marshalltown, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.

She was united in marriage to Peter R. Davin on May 15, 1890. Her husband preceeded her in death on July 26, 1909. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. George Sharp and Mrs. Francis Bryant, both of Manville. Besides her daughters, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Thomas, of Kansas City, Mo., and one brother, Harry Pinkerton, whose address is unknown. Another brother, Wm. Pinkerton, passed away at Manville a few years ago.

She is a member of the Methodist church, having joined at Marshalltown, Iowa, when a girl.
