Graveside services for Russell "Rut" Bonsell, 91, of Ekalaka, Mont., were held Jan. 24, 2000, at the Lusk Cemetery, with Pastor Trish Underberg of Newcastle officiating.
Russell Bonsell, formerly of Lusk, died Jan. 20, 2000 at Weston County Manor in Newcastle.
He was born May 8, 1908, at Lusk, the son of William and Louie (Hester) Bonsell. He attended Lusk Grade School.
He married Neva Endicott on July 2, 1934 at Hot Springs, S. D.
Russell spent most of his life as a dedicated rancher in Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana, with a short period of time spent in construction of the Seminoe Dam and working in the oil fields. He was quick witted and made friends quickly.
Survivors include his wife Neva; children Russell of Rapid City, S. D., Douglas of Ekalaka, Janice Gorsuch of Newcastle, Connie Carlson of Cheyenne, and Joan Egge of Newcastle; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ciemanec-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
